HOTEL HOPE, South Africa

This unique home for children stricken with HIV and AIDS will open its doors first quarter 2000 in trendy, multicultural Melville, a multiracial suburb of Johannesburg.  The philosophy of Hotel Hope is to create family-style comfortable homes, complete wtih Godparents, Aunties, Uncles, and Grannies who will love these children and serve as incredible role models to those that otherwise wouldn't have a chance. The founders believe that when children are clothed, fed, cherished, loved and encouraged, they can grow up to be all they can be.  Hotel Hope will create a home where love flows in abundence, and these children receive everything they need to survive and thrive.

DOOR OF HOPE, South Africa
Some time ago, it came to their attention that in greater Johannesburg alone, 40 to 50 babies were abandoned every month and left to die of starvation or exposure. The founders knew that they could do something to make a difference and help.

In August 1999 they installed a "hole in the wall" or "baby bin" in the wall of the Mission Church, where babies can be placed 24 hours a day. A sensor alerts the people in the house whenever a newcomer has arrived, and they then come to fetch the baby and will thereafter begin caring for him/her.

Once the babies recieve medical testing and are brought to a strong level of health, the babies then become available for adoption.  By June of 07, they had helped over 560 babies and they continue to do this selfless work every day, all the while in need of basic materials to care for children.
